Alleged Almerian animal abuser facing 20-month prison sentence

PROSECUTORs have asked for a 20-month sentence against a man accused of animal abuse and allegedly killing four chickens.

The man allegedly killed four chickens and stole two other birds in a farm in Canjayar, which was all reportedly recorded by a security camera.

Footage recovered by the owner of the farm allegedly showed the man took the chickens and then leave the premises with a loaded sack.

The owner of the farm had allegedly installed the camera due to the fact that his farm was unfenced and had heard that robberies were taking place in the area.

He reportedly told the court that an between six and eight hens were allegedly killed or stolen, along with a rooster, and estimated that the price of the six birds equated to just under €70.
