THE GUARDIA Civil has seized 129 packets of unsealed tobacco from a property in El Ejido.

Officers reportedly raided two buildings in El Ejido as part of an operation stopping the sale of illegal tobacco in the region.

Once inside the establishments, they reportedly found several packets of tobacco in one of the buildings, a cafeteria, with 3 packets hidden under the counter of the shop while they also found a further 126 unsealed packets hidden inside a freezer.

As a result of the find, the tobacco was seized due to its foreign origin in the continued fight against the illegal sale of contraband tobacco in public establishments.
