ALMERIA City Councillor for Municipal Services Juan Jose Alonso has announced that the Council is planning to create a dog beach in the region – although there are a number of difficulties in the way.
The City Council has reportedly been toying with the idea of a dog beach for a while, but now plans are in place to get the idea moving forward.
To get the idea implemented, the Council must first get permission from the Junta de Andalucia, who must consider a number of factors, including the work needed, conditions and regulations necessary to start-up this kind of beach.
It will then reportedly also need to be discussed at national level, where there is reportedly still some controversy surrounding the idea.
A meeting to discuss the matter, where City of Almeria representatives will be present, will take place at the Spanish Tourism Quality Headquarters in Madrid on February 6.
