Record number of disabled people employed in Almeria

A RECORD number of people with disabilities have found employment in Almeria.

Figures released by the Ministry of Employment show that in the first 10 months of 2017, 258,637 people with disabilities have found employment in Spain.

The statistics show a 16.46 percent increase on 2016 and the best figure to date.

In Almeria, the figures represent an impressive improvement on 2016 with 50,559 new jobs in 2017 compared to 42,078 last year, a 20.2 percent increase.

The statistics are a cause for celebration on International Day of Disabled Persons, (December 3), as the hiring of people with disabilities has grown steadily since 2012 across Spain. In 2014 the number exceeded 200,000 contracts for the first time.

Between 2012 and 2016 a total of 1,299,467 new jobs have been created for people with disabilities.
