THE Junta de Andalucia is working with Carrefour to promote organic products in December.

The delegate for Agriculture, Fisheries and Rural Development, José Manuel Ortiz, and the director of Carrefour Almeria, Miguel Olivares, participated in the launch of the campaign geared at informing shoppers about the benefits of organic foods, healthy eating and how it contributes to rural development in the province.

Consumption of organic food in the domestic market represents just over 1% despite Andalucía being a leader in organic production.

During the campaign, 30,000 leaflets will get distributed to homes. Information will discuss how organic foods contribute to reducing environmental pollution and sustainably use natural resources.
