Christmas market raises more than €2,000 for charity

ARBOLEAS based charity FACE (Fundraising in Arboleas, Caring for Everyone) recently hosted a Christmas Market and managed to raise over €2,700.

The market took place on December 1 in an especially erected marquee situated in the centre of Arboleas, outside the town hall.

The market was officially opened by Arboleas councillor Mark ‘Danny’ Daniels accompanied by FACE President Carrie Green.

The total amount raised by the Christmas Market was €2,741.51 and this money will go towards future donations made by FACE.

Entertainment was provided throughout the evening by 89.8 Smooth FM Radio presenters alongside station owners Bev and Neil Holmes, while a theatrical Line Dance was also performed by ‘Carrie’s Dusty Boots.’

Throughout the evening various ‘Christmas presents’ were given, in the form of a cheque, to different charities and organisations.

The Grupo Scout 106 del Saliente, the ‘Little Owls’ and MACS (Mojacar Area Cancer Support) were all given a cheque for €500, while two National Charities ALCER (Asociación para la Lucha Enfermadades del Riñon) and the AECC (Asociación Española Contra El Cancer) both received cheques for €1,000.
