Harlem Globetrotters make their way to Almeria

THE WORLD famous Harlem Globetrotters bounced their way into Almeria last Saturday.

The legendary American team displayed their formidable basketball prowess and theatrical acrobatics to a 4,400 strong crowd in Almeria’s Palace of the Mediterranean Games.

The event formed part of the troupe’s global tour and featured favourites Big Easy Lofton, Ant Atkinson, Hi-Lite Bruton, Thunder Law, Bull Bullard and Cheese Chisholm.

The team, whose legendary skills have been entertaining the USA since 1926, played the one-night event as part their world tour including stops in Zaragoza and Madrid.

Team member Slick Shaw explained that “our parties last four quarters, but the memories last a lifetime.” Reviews from spectators were delighted at the family-friendly fun and the opportunity to see such a big team play locally.
