Can You Take Your Dog on the Beach in Spain?

Considering Spain’s abundant coastline, can you take your dog on the beach?

The answer is yes you can. Beaches that allow you to take your pooch on the beach are few and far between, less than 50 in all.

Different rules apply on each beach. Some ban dogs all year round and others allowing dogs access for limited hours during the summer season.

Taking your dog on a beach where they are not permitted, even if they are well behaved and are on a lead, may result in a heavy fine.

But, the Spanish website, has created an interactive map to guide owners who want to enjoy a splash on the beach with their four-legged friend.
