The first walk of the season for The Humanists of Murcia was in the Sierra Espuñas. The group went on the Eagle Walk, which took around 3 hours.

The weather was good, a little warm when going up the slopes.   Audrey came up trumps and took great care of the walkers, warning of any part that needed special care and again she did not lose anyone. She explained that the walk was closed to the public during the eagle-breeding season so that the birds were not disturbed.

Jon was missed as he is recovering from a nasty fall whilst pruning his bougainvillea. His little, sometimes implausible (Surely not? ED), stories keep us entertained. There were 16 walkers and 2 very well behaved dogs on leads. Lunch was held at the La Parra Restaurante, El Berro and was very good.

The December walk is on Saturday 12 December and the details are available by emailing [email protected] or going to, click on Humanists.

Now that the heat of the summer is over, walks will be on the third Saturday of each month in different areas.   The walks normally last about 3 hours. The November walk is in the San Juan de Los Toreros area of Almeria.

The December walk is from the Country Club Mazarrón on 12 December meeting at 10:00.

The new venture is an Easy Rambling walk, which is on the level and lasting two hours. This will be on the second Saturday of each month; the next one will be from La Azohia. Details from [email protected] and if there is the demand, a walk will be held on 26th Dec. probably in the Coto Fortuna area.
