The Orihuela Costa Male Voice Choir April Tour to Albir and Alfaz de Pi

The Orihuela Costa Male Voice Choir has just completed a highly successful three concert tour to Albir and Alfaz de Pi where they thrilled audiences with the excellence and vitality of their singing. Conducted by their internationally famous musical director Nigel Hopkins the choir sang a selection of well loved songs ranging from Verdi to Rogers and Hammerstein. Venues ranged from the Residencia Anneke, the Forum Mare Nostrum to the Fundacio FRAX where the choir received a standing ovation.

Nigel Hopkins has been visiting Albir and Alfaz de Pi for ten years, formally with his English based choirs. This is the second tour of the area by the Orihuela Costa Male Voice Choir. During these visits Nigel’s choirs have raised considerable funds for the Asociación Española Contra el Cáncer and this tour has raised well in excess of 2000€ to the delight of Pamela Dawson Tasker who co-ordinated the venues for the tour.

The choir has many more exciting events planned with two joint concerts with the original Chivenor Branch of the Military Wives Choir, made famous by Gareth Malone on the BBC at the Ecumenical Church, La Zenia, on Saturday 25th April. The choir will then be hosting a visit by the Costa Blanca Male Voice Choir on 31st May when they will be performing a joint concert at La Zenia Church. Tickets can be purchased at The Ponderosa, La Zenia for all of Nigel’s concerts.

To join this excellent and dynamic choir contact Nigel on 96 677 5976 or come along to La Zenia Church at 11am Thursday mornings.
